Venturi-Type
Mixing Systems with Direct Fired Vaporizers
Model Numbers are AE-80 / HVS-7 to AE-480 / HVS-40. The
first part of the model number indicates the vaporizer capacity in
gallons per hour; the second part indicates the mixer capacity in MM BTU
per hour. All systems combine vertical direct fired vaporizers
(AE-series) with Venturi type mixing systems (HVS-series). They come
complete with vaporizer, venturi mixer, surge tank, interconnecting
piping, electrical and safety controls, and are mounted on a common
steel skid. This design concept makes them very compact, easy to install
and to maintain, and very reliable.
After placing the system on a non-combustible surface (i.e. concrete
pad), connecting it to electrical supply, liquid gas supply, and mixed
gas outlet, it is immediately ready to produce high-quality gas which is
directly compatible and interchangeable with natural gas.
Standard design output pressure is 5 to 8 psi, or 9 to 12 psi (please
specify desired output pressure with order). Higher pressures up to 50
psi are also available and require compressed air for operation. High
Pressure Option includes ASME “U”-stamped surge tank.
All AE/HVS systems monitor the gas pressure in the surge tank.
Smaller systems up to two venturi arrangements use pressure switches and
standard controls. The two larger systems with three or four venturi
arrangements use a pressure transmitter which is connected to a PLC. The
PLC “sequences” the venturi lines and controls all other system
functions. The PLC also communicates with a display unit, indicating
system pressures and any trouble conditions that may occur.
All systems are factory
tested, primed, painted and ready for installation. They come with 2
sets of operating manuals.
The AE/HVS series is designed for outdoor installation and requires
only nominal preventive maintenance. Intended for intermittent service,
the system is manufactured to meet or exceed requirements of the ASME
Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division I (Vaporizer) and Section VIII,
Division I (surge tank), and the latest edition of NFPA Pamphlet #58. It
is approved by Factory Mutual (FM) and by the Canadian Standards
Association (CSA); it is suitable for or Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI)
installations. All AE-series vaporizers carry ASME S-Stamp and CRN
numbers, valid for all Canadian Provinces and Territories. |
